I have lived on Donner Summit for the past 20 years – 17 of those in Placer County. I met my husband, Dan, at the Donner Summit Fire Department in 1988 where I was a volunteer firefighter and he was a full-time firefighter. Dan and I were married at Sugar Bowl in 1991 and shortly after we purchased a home in Serene Lakes. We enjoy many of the activities Placer County has to offer – hunting, fishing, hiking, climbing, bike riding, downhill skiing and Nordic skiing just to name a few.

After a long history in the private sector, including work in the construction industry, the ski industry, for the State of California and at other service jobs, I started my own business in 2001 and have been busy and happy ever since. I have thoroughly enjoyed the rewards of small business ownership and appreciate the opportunity it allows for me to continue to live and work here. Dan has been a firefighter and paramedic for 23 years – first at Donner Summit Fire and now at North Tahoe Fire on Lake Tahoe.

I grew up in a family deeply dedicated to the law and social justice. My parents were classic, small government, low tax, “mind your own business” style Republicans. My first political campaign was to help elect Republican Pete McCloskey to the US Congress.

I attended public schools and graduated from Mills College in Oakland California in 1983 with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Scholastic organization.

After college, I worked for Bank of America in San Francisco and later went to Europe to study Italian language and culture.  After returning from Europe, I lived in Colfax, attended Sierra College in Rocklin where I received my Associate Degree in Ornamental Horticulture.

Since receiving the most votes in the June Primary three-candidate election, I have spent the summer reaching out to the voters and residents of Placer County, reaffirming my commitment to them and to our rural way of life. I love Placer County and am committed to serving the needs of the residents and voters first and foremost.

I respectfully ask for your vote this November 4th.
