Preserve our natural assets from overdevelopment.
Placer County has invaluable assets in our clean air, water, landscapes and communities – these assets must be preserved to attract residents and visitors to the District. Overdevelopment threatens to destroy the very things that bring people here and will undermine our economic viability and our way of life.
I pledge to preserve our valuable lakes, streams, mountains and meadows for all.
Protect existing private and public property rights.
The property rights of existing landowners should take precedence over requests to change existing zoning in order to facilitate approval of new developments. Rezoning and “entitlements” are not guaranteed and should not be given where they negatively affect existing private property rights.
I pledge to protect existing property rights and won’t be intimidated by big developers.
Restore responsive government and a real voice for District 5 residents. During his tenure, Supervisor Bruce Kranz has held meeting after meeting where good, solid, public consensus has been formed – yet he has turned a deaf ear to his constituents by refusing to lead and make the hard decisions for the people of his District. Public input is the basis for public policy and I will base my decisions based on that input when it meets the requirements of the law.
I pledge to restore responsive government for the communities of the 5th District.
Respect existing communities, not big developer dollars.
Supervisor Kranz has publicly stated that he believes developers, not the public, should create the Community Plans for existing communities in Placer County. Further, he has lost credibility by accepting tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the same developers he believes should design our community plans. That’s not leading; it’s following developer dollars and it’s “pay to play” politics of the worst kind. Corporate developers and out-of-area speculators are only one voice – your voice must also be heard.
I pledge to respect the existing communities of Placer County, not just the big developers. |
